Polk fire’s new hires and promotions


BARTO6449860547_ff9791fc24_b.jpgW, Fla. (September 16, 2016) – More than two dozen Polk County Fire Rescue employees were recognized at its Honors and Recognition Ceremony at Polk State College Wednesday and Thursday for various achievements.

During Wednesday’s ceremony, Anthony P. Stravino officially become Polk County’s fire chief after he took the oath of office.

Polk County Fire Rescue employs approximately 600 employees and responds to more than 82,000 emergency calls annually. Polk County Fire Rescue is the only emergency medical transport service in the county and the primary fire response agency to the unincorporated areas and the municipalities of Mulberry, Polk City, Eagle Lake and Lake Hamilton.
