FHSAA hands down punishment to Pahokee after use of ineligible player

FHSAA has handed down a steep penalty to class 1A champions Pahokee after they were found to have used an ineligible player. Pahokee will be forced to forfeit all 14 games of the 2016/2017 after it was found that one of the players had entered 9th grade in 2012, thus making this year his fifth year of play which is a violation of FHSAA rules. The school is claiming a data error caused the system to not flag this player as ineligible and they will appeal the decision.Pahokee will also be fined $1400 which is equal to $100 per school that was played. As far as changes to records of other teams that announcment has not been made at this point and we will continue to follow this story.
